Fire Solution Description
Med Media’s Fire Solution is a
comprehensive technology system designed
to meet the many electronic needs of a
Fire Department. Components work
independent of one another, but work most
efficiently as a total integrated
solution. Med Media’s goal is to provide a
technology solution to the customer that
identifies the crucial components needed
based upon the organizations current and
future requirements throughout the
evaluation, purchasing, implementation,
and maintenance stages. All of our systems
are expandable and scaleable, which is
essential to enable information from a
variety of public safety agencies to be
monitored by appropriate oversight
agencies such as emergency management
agencies. Here’s an example of a typical
event using all aspects of the solution:
NFIRS Reporting: FIREStat
FIREStat receives data pushed to the
software from a computer-aided dispatch
(CAD) system. The data is imported into
FIREStat to initiate a fire incident
report.
Med Media’s FIREStat 1.0 is the desktop
solution for collecting fire incident
information. The original version was
engineered in 1999. Med Media's FIREStat
solution is desktop software designed to
exceed requirements for electronic data
reporting based on the National Fire
Incident Reporting System (NFIRS). It
replaces hand written fire incident
sheets, follows the progressive workflow
of a call and helps the user to complete
data collection and reporting requirements
in a fraction of the time compared to
current methodologies.
FIREStat automates all functions in a
manner that minimizes entry errors and
effectively collects data required by the
United States Fire Administration (USFA)
for incident reporting. It even employs
visual and aural cues to indicate the
absence of required data prior to closing
an incident report.
Data Warehouse: WebCUR
Med Media's data repository solution
provides a web-based application for data
warehousing and report generation. Data
backups and disaster recovery are
significant issues for public safety
agencies that are not equipped to be data
centers. The simple ability to be able to
store critical data on a remote web site
via a secure Internet connection will
provide important backup and disaster
recovery functionality to these remote
operations.
Though the ability to archive data on the
WebCUR or your personal data center
website is important, this is only one of
the many features that will be available
to the customers that subscribe to this
service. WebCUR will provide full
reporting capabilities to authorized
clients and over time, will provide the
ability for electronic reporting instead
of the labor-intensive paper process.
The client to server communications will
be done via standards based, 128-bit SSL
and the web based application client is
fully integrated into the WebCUR Data Link
desktop client.
FIREStat: EMS Module
The EMS module in FIREStat permits the
user to document their NFIRS and NEMSIS
required data in the one system. Data is
stored on WebCUR for reporting purposes.
Data submission is transmitted to EMS
authorities in a NEMSIS compliant
format. Users familiar with our latest
EMS product will find the user interface
to be similar. Administrative reporting
and quality assurance are handled at the
web level. Electronic files may be
attached to the document. Interfaces
between billing software and service
providers is handled via our WebBill
application.
Mobile Solutions
Med Media’s applications may be accessed
from any web-enabled device. Interfaces
identify the type of device accessing the
system and optimize the view for the user.
The intent of accessing our system from a
mobile web-enabled device is to give the
flexibility of access and basic
documentation on the incident record. Once
saved, the information is updated to the
data repository and is available to update
through the conventional desktop software
application.
Fire Scene Rehab & Accountability
Med Media, Inc. utilizes its personnel
tracking system to track activities of
personnel at incident scenes. Serial
vital signs including temperature and
fluid resuscitation data is tracked for
reporting purposes after the incident.
Inspection
Med Media offers a solution for
performing a variety of inspections on a
handheld or mobile computer with a fully
functional operating system. The
inspection application gives the user
the ability to select standard NFPA
codes for violation notification. A
robust set of features and reports allow
the fire inspector to review preplans,
prior notices given during inspections
and detail regarding various building
and inspection codes.
Fire Billing: WebBill
Med Media’s WebBill eliminates the cost
associated with mailing or faxing incident
reports to your billing service.
Harnessing the power of our WebCUR
technology, this solution puts the tools
in the hands of those doing the billing.
Data from calls for service may be
downloaded from WebCUR via an encrypted
connection to the WebBill software.
Individual and batch printing of incident
report is available. The incident, billing
page and any electronic attachments are
also viewable by the billing agent in
WebCUR. WebBill also creates electronic
exports of data from the incident record
in formats defined by the billing software
vendor.
